About Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik's old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site wrapped in massive stone walls that have stood since the 13th century. Walk the walls at sunrise before the crowds arrive and you'll look down over terracotta rooftops, church domes, and the Adriatic stretching to the horizon. The beaches here are rocky in that Mediterranean way — Banje Beach is the main one, right outside the old town walls — but the real draws are the islands. Lokrum is a 15-minute ferry ride to a car-free nature reserve with a saltwater lake. The Elafiti Islands are an easy day trip. And the Adriatic water clarity is genuinely stunning.
